Deloitte Legal appoints Rubén Chaparro as tax partner in Spain

Deloitte Legal has appointed Rubén Chaparro, formerly of PwC, as a partner in its tax department, reinforcing one of the firm’s strategic practice areas. The hire is a high-profile move, as Chaparro has spent the past 25 years at PwC, where he built his career in tax advisory.
As the firm explains, the tax sector is currently facing major international regulatory challenges, and this addition aims to consolidate Deloitte’s integrated advisory capabilities in areas such as Pillar Two requirements, EU tax harmonization policies, and temporary levies, among other key topics.
Rubén Chaparro joins a team that has long been working on innovative solutions in areas like international tax planning, corporate transactions, and the impact of AI on tax management.
With a 25-year track record at PwC, Chaparro has advised leading national and international companies across the financial, banking, capital markets, and asset management sectors.
He holds a degree in Business Administration and Management, specialising in Auditing, from the CEU San Pablo University, and obtained a Master’s degree in Tax Consultancy from the IE Business School. He is a lecturer in Taxation of Financial Transactions at the IE Business School.
