Cooley Lands in London with 19 Edwards Wildman and MoFo Hires.
Cooley LLP, a leading technology and life sciences US law firm, announced its long-awaited launch of a UK practice in London, comprising 20 partners and 55 lawyers. 14 of these partners come from Edwards Wildman’s London team, and 5 from Morrison & Foerster (MoFo)’s London office.

Justin Stock, the former head of Morrison & Foerster's London corporate practice, will lead the new office. Other prominent partners include David Bresnick (corporate M&A), Ed Lukins (corporate M&A), Chris Coulter (technology) and Nicholas Bolter (IP). This raid adds significantly to Edwards Wildman’s woes, which was already hit by the departure of a number of partners after its merger with Locke Lord in 2014.

For the record, Cooley has been well-positioned in several Leaders League’s US law firms rankings IP and technology, and especially life sciences.
