Colombia’s Brigard Urrutia adds new partner

Colombian law firm Brigard Urrutia has announced the incorporation of Adrián Rodríguez as a partner, and who will co-lead the firm’s tax practice together with Catalina Jaramillo and Andrés Hernández, and the firm’s director Daniel Duque.

“This strengthening of the team allows us to continue with our commitment to offer the highest standards of excellent, trust and closeness to our clients,” the firm said in a statement.

Adrián has more than 25 years of experience advising companies and individuals in multiple industries and projects. He has focused on international and national corporate taxation, foreign investment and matters related to business reorganizations, mergers and acquisitions and, in general, in all tax matters related to corporate and commercial law.

In addition, he is the author of several publications and has been a frequent guest as a lecturer in specialized forums in Colombia and abroad.

He has been a professor at the Universidad de los Andes and the Pontifica Javeriana and is admitted to practice law in New York and Illinois.

Prior to joining Brigard Urrutia, he worked for Lewin & Wills, where he was a partner in the tax, corporate and M&A areas, and where he worked from 2009-21, and prior to that worked in New York for Sidley Austin as an associate.
