Carlos Zabala, head of criminal practice at Clifford Chance, leaves the firm to set up his own boutique

Carlos Zabala, until now head of Criminal and counsel at Clifford Chance, is leaving the Magic Circle firm and founding his own boutique, Estudio Jurídico Zabala. The departure agreed is due to the conflicts of interest that hindered his practice in the English firm, preventing him from accepting some matters or clients, due to his collision with other departments and specialties.

The new boutique is located in Calle de Padilla, Madrid, and will be dedicated exclusively to advising on all areas of economic and corporate criminal law, with a strong specialization in economic crimes. Estudio Jurídico Zabala will also offer procedural advice as prosecution and defense, as well as preventive or reactive criminal law through the conduct of internal investigations.
