Austrian energy-tech company ed-energiedigital GmbH has completed a seven-figure seed financing round with investment from JS North Asia Investments Limited.

Founded in Graz in 2022 by Martin Moser, Andreas Zobl and Stefano Coss, ed-energiedigital has developed a digital platform for the creation and management of energy communities. The company’s solution integrates community set-up, energy planning, participant management and automated billing into a single platform, supporting Community Generation Facilities (GEA), Renewable Energy Communities (EEG) and Citizen Energy Communities (BEG).

The startup distinguishes itself through its self-consumption optimisation technology. By combining proprietary hardware with API-based integrations, the platform monitors electricity generation and consumption in real time and automatically adjusts flexible energy loads to maximise the use of locally generated renewable energy. The technology is designed to increase efficiency within energy communities and support the broader transition towards decentralised energy systems.

The proceeds of the financing will be used to accelerate the company’s growth strategy and support its expansion into new European markets, including the United Kingdom, France and Spain.

Commenting on the transaction, the founders of ed-energiedigital said: “This first investment round will enable us to significantly accelerate our growth and enter new markets. As a scale-up, it is essential for us to have reliable legal advisers who understand the challenges of a fast-growing technology company.”

E+H advised ed-energiedigital on the transaction. The team was led by partner Steve Jeitler and associate Florian Vidreis, with support from associate Marie-Sophie Rucker.
