Apparcel Uriarte & Vassallo Abogados appoints new partner

Chilean law firm Apparcel Uriarte & Vassallo Abogados (AUV) has appointed Consuelo Mackenna as a new partner of the firm, which will strengthen the delivery of legal solutions in corporate matters, focusing on the areas of fintech and venture capital.

Until now, Mackenna has been a senior associate at AUV, leading its corporate area since November 2020, when she joined the firm. In that role, she led important matters for clients both in Chile and abroad.

Mackenna is a lawyer and holds a diploma in applied business taxation from Universidad Adolfo Ibáñez, and she also holds an LLM in banking, corporate and finance law from Fordham University School of Law in New York.

Between 2013 and 2019 she worked at Banco Itaú as senior corporate lawyer, reporting directly to the bank's general counsel after the merger with Corpbanca.

Prior to joining AUV, she worked as an associate attorney at Sterlington LLP in New York.
