Chilean mining company Antofagasta Minerals has successfully carried out a $750 million bond issuance.

The issuance is the company’s third on the New York market, and the bonds carry maturities in 2030, 2032 and 2034.

The proceeds raised from the issuance will be used for general purposes, with a particular emphasis on the implementation of the expansion of the company’s Minera Centinela project.

Centinela is one of the largest copper-mining projects in the country and involves an investment by the company of around $3 billion, employing around 5,000 people.

Chilean law firm Jara Del Favero Abogados advised Antofagasta plc, the parent company of mining company Antofagasta Minerals.

JDF’s team was led by partners Felipe Ovalle and Christian Schiessler, and included senior associate Felipe Davanzo.
