International dispute resolution funder Vannin Capital are launching a new office in New York, having hired three former commercial litigators as investment directors.

Michael German from Arnold & Porter Kaye Scholer; Alan Guy from Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer and previously Cravath, Swaine & Moore; and Carolina Ramirez from Dentons and previously White & Case, join Vannin Capital as investment directors. Two new high-profile investment committee members are also expected to arrive shortly.

The New York office is Vannin’s second office in the US and eighth globally. The moves mark the latest step in the firm’s current global expansion and follow the appointment of international arbitration specialist Jeffery Commission as investment director in Washington DC in 2016.

Earlier this summer Vannin Capital hired commercial litigation specialist Andrew Jones from Linklaters in London and portfolio manager Sibylle Natcheva from Baker McKenzie in the Isle of Man.

Vannin’s chairman Dan Craddock commented: “Our strategy has always been to complement our US East Coast offering with the right litigation team, likewise we’re now looking at our Mid and West Coast presence, in addition to significant expansion in other new and existing territories, including The Middle East and Asia.”
