TozziniFreire Advogados has announced former Kestener, Granja & Vieira lawyer, Marco Aurélio Torronteguy, as the new partner which joins its Life Sciences & Healthcare team. Mr. Torronteguy spent a total of six years at Mattos Muriel Kestener Advogados and Kestener, Granja & Vieira Advogados before moving to his current firm.  


Mr. Torronteguy holds an LL.M. from Universidade Federal de Santa Maria (UFSM) as well as a specialization degree in health law and a Doctor of Laws degree, both from Universidade de São Paulo (USP). He is additionally a long-serving professor of health law at Instituto Racine, vice-chair of the health law committee of the Brazilian Bar Association (OAB/SP) and a counselor at the National Health Council (CNS).


With offices in São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Brasília, Porto Alegre, Campinas, Caxias do Sul and New York, full-service firm TozziniFreire has already promoted four partners - Mr. Torronteguy included - since the beginning of the year. Its Life Sciences & Healthcare practice is well-equipped to advise on cases involving industry sectors as diverse as healthcare, drugs, medical devices, food and agrichemicals.


Mr. Torronteguy will pair up with department head Elysangela de Oliveira Rabelo at the firm’s São Paulo office where he will particularly focus on regulatory issues related to the life sciences sector.
