Thompson & Knight has named Rodolfo Rueda Ballesteros as a new partner in its Mexico City office, and who forms part of the firm’s international energy practice.

Santiago Hurtado, new partner of Simmons & Simmons Spain
Hurtado, who is highly experienced in bankruptcy law, joins the firm after seven years as head of Deloitte Legal's insolvency department. His career in the private sector is preceded by a long experience in the public administration, where he has held various roles, including advisor to the cabinet of President José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero, head of the Ministry of the Presidency, and technical secretary general of the Ministry of Justice with minister Francisco Caamaño.
The new partner is also an associate professor of commercial law at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid and has experience in commercial litigation, arbitration and litigation, among other matters.
