On December 1st, Rodriguez Garcia, a Peruvian law boutique, inaugurated its legal advisory services.


The firm will be led by Gustavo Rodríguez García and will comprise the areas of intellectual property, competition law, advertising law, consumer protection, elimination of bureaucratic barriers and compliance in market issues.

 

García is a professor of competition and IP law at ESAN Graduate School of Business and also teaches consumer law at Pontificia Universidad Católica del Peru. He is also the president of the Permanent Ethics Commission of Peru’s National Council for Publicity Regulation. Prior to founding his firm, Garcia used to work as senior associate at Benites, Forno & Ugaz Abogados.

Peru is considered one of the leading emerging markets in the region in terms of economic development and despite the economic slowdown the prospects are better than in neighboring countries. According to the IMF Peru will grow at a faster rate than Chile, Colombia and Mexico. The recently elected president should provide a basis for this notably through several infrastructure projects that should launch in the coming years.
