Portugal's EDP completes €1bn share capital increase

Portuguese utilities company EDP recently completed a share capital increase via a €1.02 billion share offer.

Portuguese utilities company EDP recently completed a share capital increase via a €1.02 billion share offer.


The share capital increase registered demand of 256 per cent of the amount of the offer and was thus fully subscribed.

 

The issued shares will be traded on the Euronext Lisbon market.

 

EDP is led by CEO Miguel Stilwell de Andrade (pictured).

 

EDP was advised by  Morais Leitão, whose team included Ricardo Andrade Amaro, Nuno Galvão Teles, Carlos Osório de Castro, Diana Ribeiro Duarte and Pedro Capitão Barbosa. 

 

Vieira de Almeida (VdA) and Allen & Overy advised BCP, as financial intermediary, as well as joint global coordinators J.P. Morgan and Morgan Stanley. The VdA team included Pedro Cassiano Santos, José Pedro Fazenda Martins, Hugo Moredo Santos, Ana Luís de Sousa and Tiago Correia Moreira.

 

EDP was also advised by Clifford Chance. The Clifford Chance team included John Connolly, Chris Roe, Patrick Meson, James Koessler and Kelly Frevele.
