Peru’s Benites Vargas & Ugaz adds new partner

Peruvian law firm Benites Vargas &Ugaz has incorporated Jeanette Aliaga as a partner in its corporate law practice.

Jeanette’s addition strengthens the firm’s corporate law offering, the firm said in a statement.

Jeanette holds an LLM from Harvard University and has also studied at the California School of Law and the Universidad Complutense in Madrid, where she studied American Law and financial law, respectively, and she holds a law degree from the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú.

She joins the firm from having garnered more than 20 years’ experience as a professor of banking and finance law on the postgraduate program of her alma mater, and after having been an arbiter of the American Chamber of Peru’s International Arbitration Center since 2015.

She has also held the post of arbiter at the Center for National and International Arbitration and Conciliation of the Lima Chamber of Commerce since 2015.

She is also a professor of banking and stock market laws at the Universidad del Pacífico since 2012.

Benites Vargas & Ugaz is a Lima-based, full-service law firm that has been the recipient of numerous national and international recognitions for its standard of services and lawyer expertise, and Jeanette’s addition to the team brings the firm’s partner count to 14.
