New partner appointment at Beccar Varela
Argentinian law firm Beccar Varela has strengthened its M&A/corporate, project finance and energy areas with the appointment of new partner Ricardo Castañeda.

Castañeda, who has extensive experience in the above areas has advised several companies involved in the oil & gas, power, infrastructure, telecoms, chemical and agribusiness sectors on complex M&A transactions.
His expertise includes helping structure and secure financing for conventional and renewable energy projects.
Prior to joining the firm, Castañeda spent two years at the head of electric power generation company YPF Luz’s legal department, a leader in the renewables sector in Argentina. Prior to that, he worked for more than 13 years at Estudio O’Farrell, where he spent eight years leading the corporate, finance and capital-markets department.
A graduate of Universidad Católica Argentina, he has postgraduate qualifications from Universidad de Buenos Aires and a master’s degree in business law from Austral University. He also completed the negotiation and leadership program at Harvard University.
