Chile’s civil and commercial dispute resolution boutique Abogabir Miranda has boosted its practice with the appointment of Juan Carlos Flores Rivas to partner. He will lead the newly formed administrative contentious area alongside two associates. He joins a team of three partners, two associates and one paralegal.
Flores Rivas is a graduate, master and doctor in administrative law, having earned all three degrees from the Universidad de los Andes, the same institution where he works as professor and director of the administrative law masters course. In addition, he is also an infrastructure and public works concession professor in administrative law at the Catholic University. Prior to joining the firm, he was an associate at Fermandois & Cía and at Reymond & Cía for several years.
Established in 2017, the firm’s main practices are civil, commercial, consumer and criminal dispute resolution, with emphasis in domestic and international arbitration. The firm advises several companies that regularly interact with the state in different industries such as manufacturing, construction, real estate, aeronautics, mining, agricultural, engineering, environmental and transportation and health.
