Müggenburg, Gorches y Peñalosa welcomes new partner to their team in Mexico

The firm Müggenburg, Gorches y Peñalosa (MGPS) has welcomed Juan Cortinas Barajas as partner in September. Mr. Cortiñas has focused his professional practice mainly on  Corporate, Merger and Acquisitions, Real Estate, Project Finance and Restructures. During the course of his career, Mr. Cortiñas acted as  General Counsel to Bombardier Transportation, DHL Deutsche Post A.G. and  Merck Sharp and Dohme, to name a few.


Mr. Cortiñas has obtained his law degree from the Escuela Libre de Derecho in 1995. He also has a MBA degree from Thunderbird School of Global Business Management and the Instituto Tecnológico de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey in the United States. He also obtained his LL.M. degree from the Universidad Panamericana in Mexico City.


Mr. Cortiñas is also recognized as a professor of Roman law, Civil and Commercial Law and General Theory of Civil Law at the Escuela Libre de Derecho, Universidad Iberoamericana and Centro de Investigación y Docencia Económica (“CIDE”).
