Mitchell Silberberg & Knupp and Richardson Patel to Merge
Mitchell Silberberg & Knupp LLP, a 107-year-old law firm specializing in digital media, entertainment, and other industries, has merged with Richardson Patel LLP, a 15 year old boutique firm which specializes in corporate finance, securities, mergers & acquisitions, and private equity.

The merger took effect as of July 1st, and the new firm functions under the name Mitchell Silberberg & Knupp LLP. The merger is expanding in order to broaden the services that it is offering their clients.

Kevin Gaut who is managing partner of Mitchell Silberberg, will be chairman, and Nimish Patel, the co-founder and co-managing partner of Richardson Patel, will be the vice-chairman.

The law firm now has office presences in New York, Los Angeles and Washington. According to Gaut, the New York office will enhance corporate practice in order to serve emerging growth of middle market companies.

Patel states that “Over the years we’ve resisted more merger discussions than I can count. But the opportunity to join a firm with such rich history, consistent values, entrepreneurial spirit and complementary practices was far too attractive to let go”.

The new firm now has 130 attorneys.
