Mexico’s Chevez Ruiz Zamarripa names 3 new partners
Mexican law firm Chevez Ruiz Zamarripa has named Elías Kamhagi, Rodrigo Alberto Troncoso Treviño and Fernando González as new partners.

Kamhagi and Troncoso’s promotions will strengthen the firm’s tax practice, while González will bolster the firm’s corporate and M&A practices.
The three will assume their new roles from January 1st, 2022.
Elías Kamhagi joined Chevez Ruiz Zamarripa in 2007 and was promoted to associate in 2014. He has focused his professional practice on the areas of corporate restructurings in Mexico and abroad, as well as equity aspects.
He has taught tax law at the Universidad Iberoamericana (UIA) and holds a master’s degree in the same subject from the Universidad Panamericana and a degree in accounting and business management from the UIA.
Rodrigo Troncoso joined the firm in 2015 and has primarily practiced tax law, with a focus on advisory and consulting services, as well as litigation and defense. He also has experience in the practice of corporate commercial law.
Throughout his career, he has advised national and international companies in the structuring of their operations, as well as in the implementation of transactions, and in the resolution of controversies with the Mexican tax authorities.
He has a law degree from the Tec de Monterrey, and graduated in accounting from the U-ERRE.
Fernando González advises domestic and international clients from a wide range of industries and sectors, including public and private companies, investment funds and shareholders, among others, in different types of corporate transactions, including M&As, partnerships, shareholder agreements, restructurings, strategic alliances, combinations and capital raisings, among others.
He also advises clients on complex and day-to-day corporate matters, including the creation of special purpose vehicles (SPVs), new foreign investment projects in Mexico, compliance with corporate obligations, and shareholders' agreements and resolutions.
He has participated as local counsel in high-level multi-jurisdictional matters, standing out for his practical and business-oriented approach.
He holds a law degree from the Universidad Autónoma de Querétaro, and a master’s degree in international and European law from the Universiteit van Amsterdam.
Chevez Ruiz Zamarripa has offices in Mexico City, Monterrey and Querétaro, as well as in New York City, Houston and Madrid.
