Beatriz’s incorporation obeys the growing demand of KMPG’s clients in the tax and legal area.

“Beatriz brings to KPMG a solid experience of more than 20 years in advisory and project management of national and international tax planning for mining companies, legal advice and internal audits for companies in the energy sector, and legal advice with emphasis on taxation for hydrocarbon companies,” María Julia Sáenz, KPMG's tax and legal lead partner in Peru, said.

Until June of this year, Beatriz had worked as an international consultant on energy and sustainable projects for Efikas, a law firm based in Houston, Texas.

Prior to that, Beatriz had held the position of tax partner and energy leader at EY Peru, a firm she worked for during more than 18 years.

She also works as a professor at the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú, where she graduated in law, and she holds an LLM from the University of Houston Law Center and an LLM in oil and gas law from the University of Aberdeen in Scotland.

She has contributed to the design of tax policies and hydrocarbons regulation for government authorities, and has edited publications in coordination with organizations such as Peru’s investment promotion agency Proinversión, the Peruvian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the Ministry of Energy and Mines.

“At KPMG in Peru, we adapt to changes and respond by investing in capabilities to meet the growing needs of our clients, associations and regulators; in this way we seek to contribute to the development and competitiveness of the country,” María Julia Sáenz said.
