European partner moves show no sign of slowing down. Kirkland & Ellis has hired, to the tax office of its Munich office Michael Ehret, an Allen & Overy partner.
Dr. Michael Ehret, who was a tax partner at Allen & Overy’s Frankfurt office for almost four years and prior to that at fellow Magic Circle firm Linklaters for a decade, will join Kirkland’s tax practice as a partner in the Munich office.
As a tax lawyer and advisor, Dr. Ehret’s practice at Kirkland will focus on tax law issues related to domestic and international M&A, private equity, acquisition financing, capital markets and real estate transactions.
“We are excited to add a lawyer of Michael’s caliber to our tax practice in Germany as our Munich office continues to grow and attract complex and high-profile mandates from leading private equity sponsors and corporations,” said Jon Ballis, Chairman of Kirkland’s Executive Committee.
Ehret’s start date at Kirkland is not yet set, according to a spokesperson for the firm.
