Chicago-headquartered firm launches a new office in Dallas.
Kirkland & Ellis has announced the opening of a new office in Dallas, which becomes the firm's second Texas location after Houston and the firm's ninth office in the US.
The firm revealed that the office will be staffed by Jones Day's Michael Considine and Alex Rose, Weil Gotshal's Kevin Crews, Vinson & Elkins' Thomas Laughlin and Lanchi Huynh, and Winston & Strawn's Dilen Kumar. All six are set to join the firm as partners and focus on M&A transactions and private equity deals.
“Kirkland has established a powerful presence in Texas since opening our Houston office in 2014. Our expansion to Dallas makes sense given the increasing work we are handling in the state, and we are excited to bring together top transactional legal talent in the city for this expansion. We look forward to becoming an integral part of the Dallas business community,” said Jeffrey Hammes, the firm's chairman.
