Hernández & Cía Incorporates Two New Partners

Hernández’s energy practice will be led by Brendan Oviedo, who brings a team of two other lawyers from Rubio, Leguía Normand Abogados: Evelyn Lopez and Daniela Falcone. He will also co-lead the projects, infrastructure and construction areas. Prior to Rubio, Oviedo was senior associate for Lema, Solari & Santivañez Abogados.

The new labor group, which is also made up of two lawyers (Diego Castillo Fuentes and María Claudia Polo Gastulo) plus partner Michael Vidal, previously worked for Ernst & Young Perú. Vidal has more than 20 years in the area, having worked for Estudio Echecopar and Javier de Belaúnde Abogados. He is currently a professor of labor law at Pontificia Universidad Católica de Peru.

According to Juan Luis Hernández, managing partner of the firm, these sectors have been experiencing constant growth and their demand has become more sophisticated. The current government's emphasis on unlocking several mega projects and developing new ones has boosted the firm’s desire to expand its energy and projects teams. As for the labor area, he added: “the growth of consulting by corporate clients and our desire to become leaders in this area of ??practice has led us to adopt this important decision to strengthen the current team.”
