Gómez-Pinzón appoints Ana Cristina Jaramillo as partner in Colombia

Ana Cristina Jaramillo has been named a new partner in the M&A practice of law firm Gómez-Pinzón in Bogotá, making the firm’s female-partner count the largest in any law firm in the country.

With this appointment, Ana Cristina returns to the law firm, having worked at the firm for seven years from 2004-11.

A lawyer graduated from Los Andes and with an LLM from Harvard University and a MBA from Imperial College London, and accredited to practice law in the State of New York since 2008, Ana Cristina has 17 years of experience and began her professional career in Gómez-Pinzón, where she worked for more than seven years as a senior associate.

Before joining the firm as a partner this month,  Ana Cristina served as managing partner of the M&A and corporate law department of British firm Norton Rose Fulbright.

She was also founder and co-director of the M&A area for a prestigious foreign firm starting its operations in Colombia, and previously served as manager of governmental affairs of Drummond, the multinational mining and hydrocarbons company.

Ana Cristina has also worked as an associate at Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton in  New York.

She specializes in corporate law, commercial law, M&A and capital markets, focusing on transactional advice to clients in their business matters.

During her professional career, she has focused on addressing issues related to M&A, private equity, joint ventures and corporate matters in a number of economic sectors.

Ana Cristina has participated and advised numerous and important transactions in the Colombian market, such as financing rounds with the foreign investors of Merqueo, with the sale of the company that operates data credit to the English multinational Experian, and the purchase of a minority stake of Itochu Corp by Drummond, to name just a few.
