“These two promotions underscore the critical role labor law plays in the corporate world and Garrigues' commitment to its Latin American labor and employment law practice,” the firm said in a statement.

The new appointments come just a few months ago after the firm also strengthened the labor and employment law department in Colombia, hiring Carolina Camacho as the partner in charge of that practice in Bogotá.

Bárbara Vera and Franco Muschi each bring over 15 years’ of experience to the table.

In Chile, Bárbara delivers comprehensive labor and employment advice, with a focus on collective bargaining and labor-related court disputes, and heads up labor advisory services for both Chilean and international M&A deals.

In Peru, Franco Muschi applies his solid experience as a labor law advisor in Peruvian and foreign companies in M&A deals and corporate restructuring, as well as in labor-related litigation.

The new partners are part of a slew of new appointments at the firm, with the appointment of 14 partners in Spain, in addition to the two new partners in Latin America.

Half of the new partners are women, and the firm also approved the promotion of a new partner in G-advisory, the firm’s consulting arm on energy and ESG matters.

Garrigues is an international legal and tax services firm that advises clients locally, regionally and globally from every angle of business law, with a team of over 2,000 professionals.
