In early January, the former Litigation & Arbitration team at PVG Advogados left the firm to set up a new boutique, LUC Advogados | Contencioso & Arbitragem.
Founded by partners Luciano de Souza Godoy and Ricardo Zamariola Junior, it is headquartered in São Paulo with a branch office in Brasília and counts with a total of 20 lawyers entirely dedicated to strategic litigation and arbitration matters. In this regard, the firm is able to competently represent clients before State, Federal and Higher Courts, as well as before well-known arbitration centers.
LUC Advogados benefits from seasoned attorney Mr. Godoy, who has been acting as an arbitrator since 2012 and has extensive experience working with both the public and private sectors. He worked as a federal judge for almost a decade and as legal counsel at two market-leading companies, Banco Santander and Companhia Siderúrgica Nacional (CSN), before joining PVG as partner in 2013. Additionally, he has been a professor at Fundação Getulio Vargas (FGV) for over 10 years and holds a Bachelor of Laws, a Master’s and a Ph.D. from Universidade de São Paulo (USP).
Meanwhile, Mr. Zamariola Junior earned a Bachelor of Laws from USP and boasts an impressive track record dealing with conflict resolution issues, particularly civil and commercial litigation as well as arbitration. He began his career by founding his own firm, Tranchesi Ortiz, Andrade e Zamariola Advocacia, where he worked for more than 13 years before moving to PVG as partner in 2016. Mr. Zamariola Junior became well-known on the national and international scene when, still aged 28, he successfully provided counsel on the Sean Goldman case, one of the most notorious family law cases in recent Brazilian history.
