Ecuadorian law firm Solines & Asociados has announced the promotion of Diego Beltrán Bastides to partner, and who heads the firm’s digital, environmental and constitutional law practices.
“We anticipate great success for him in this new professional step within our firm,” the firm said in a statement.
Diego is a law graduate of the Universidad Católica del Ecuador, and holds a postgraduate degree in national security and international law from George Washington University in Washington, DC, with a specialization in digital law, cyber security, computer crimes and privacy.
He has taken courses in law in Argentina, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Italy and the US, and has professional experience working in Canada, Kenya, Lebanon and Switzerland.
His strengths in the areas of law, security and innovation, complement his management of more traditional legal áreas such as environmental and administrative law oriented toward providing counsel to companies, foundation and startups, as well as private individuals in the promotion and protection of rights in both the real and digital sphere, domestic and international regulatory compliance, social responsibility and corporate affairs.
In his more than 10 years of experience, Diego has also acted as counsel for international organizations in human rights and migratory matters, environmental laws and cyber security, and has acted as counsel to Ecuador’s environment and defense ministries, the national water agency, and to the Organization of American States and Ecuador’s representative office to that regional body.
