Alvarado is a ten-year veteran of the local legal scene, and his areas of expertise include competition, regulatory and intellectual property matters as well as antitrust, unfair competition, consumer protection, and bureaucratic barriers. 

He holds a law degree from the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú, a MSc. in Regulation from the London School of Economics and Political Sciences, and has taken post graduate courses in competition, regulation and merger control at the Universidad of Valladolid and Universidad de Lima.

Alvarado has a diverse professional background which includes both, public and private aspects. Prior to joining the firm, he worked from 2008 to 2013 in the highest chamber of the Peruvian Competition Agency (INDECOPI), participating as executive consultant in a wide array of cases mostly in the areas of antitrust, unfair competition, consumer protection, and bureaucratic barriers.

From 2013, he worked in the competition, regulatory, and IP departments at Miranda & Amado Abogados as senior associate and in 2017 he held the role of international associate at Colombian firm Gomez Pinzón Abogados, in the IP, competition and TMT departments.

Alvarado has assisted large multinationals and local companies with regards to preventative strategies aimed at implementing commercial actions or transactions, compliance programs, and sanctioning proceedings (essentially before INDECOPI and the Data Protection Authority).

Diez Canseco was founded in 2016 and provides services in competition and intellectual property areas.
