Chile’s Lembeye adds tax and labor leads
Chilean law firm Lembeye has announced the incorporation of Paris Norambuena and Isabel Villagrán to the firm, who will lead the firm’s tax and labor areas, respectively.
Isabel, who assumes the role of director, is a lawyer graduated from the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile and holds an LLM from Georgetown University. She has 15 years of experience advising national and multinational companies on corporate, labor, union, contract bargaining matters and labor agreements in general, in addition to immigration and labor dispute resolution.
In her new role at the firm, Isabel will provide counsel on matters related to employment contracts, drafting and implementation of internal human resources and diversity policies and procedures, equity and inclusion, outsourcing management and handling, collective bargaining, expatriate management and labor litigation.
She is highly experienced in conducting internal corporate investigations within the framework of internal regulations, such as codes of conduct and ethics and compliance policies.
Prior to joining Lembeye, she was a compliance officer at Black & Veatch.
For his part, Paris is the firm’s new senior associate and holds a law degree from the Universidad of Chile and a master of sciences degree in economics from the same university.
He has nine years of experience in tax matters and the structuring of transactions, mainly advising local companies and foreign investors, having worked in the tax teams of prestigious law firms.
He advises local companies in all kinds of tax matters, as well as foreign investors in their activities in the country, including planning, structuring and negotiating mergers and acquisitions. Likewise, his practice includes advising high net worth individuals and family businesses, both in the field of local and foreign investment. In addition, Paris has represented local and foreign taxpayers before the tax authorities in negotiation and litigation processes, both in administrative and judicial proceedings.
Prior to joining Lembeye, he was an associate in the tax practice of Bofill Mil & Álvarez Jana, a position he held from 2018, and prior to that was a tax policy manager at EY, from 2015-18, following his stint as a member of the tax team at Chilean law firm Carey.
