Spanish firm Garrigues has reelected their current chairman, Fernando Vives, until February 2022. Ricardo Gómez-Barreda – who has been the firm’s senior partner since 2010 – has also been ratified for a second period.
Fernando Vives was first elected chairman in 2010 following the retirement of Antonio Garrigues, the former chairman and founder of Garrigues Partners. Vives, has been working in the firm since 1998 and was the head of the corporate and commercial practice before his appointment as chairman. The new chairman has managed to pull the firm forward, notably by withdrawing their alliance with Latin American firms in 2013 in order to open their own offices in those markets. To date five offices in Latin American countries.
