Belgian law firm Van Bael & Bellis bolsters its transactional services team
Van Bael & Bellis, an independent law firm based in Brussels and London, has hired a three lawyer finance team.

The trio, led by partner Johan Mouraux, is arriving at Van Bael & Bellis with a senior associate and an associate. Mouraux previously headed the finance, projects and restructuring practice group at DLA Piper Belgium, where he made partner in 2012.
This move sees the firm adapt to the realities of Brexit coming, as it does, after the opening of a London office in June 2020. Managing partner Philippe De Baere commented that the arrival of this new team is a clear sign of VBB’s focus on key growth areas and is the latest step in the development of services and expertise for clients.
With the latest hires Van Bael & Bellis, a 35-year-old firm focusing on EU and national competition, trade and customs, regulatory, and business law, is increasing the number of lawyers in its Brussel’s office to 70.
