Basham, Ringe y Correa has assisted LyondellBasell and Schulman, Inc. in the pre-merger filing before Mexico's Competition Commission (COFECE) in order to obtain antitrust clearance for the acquisition. The deal closed August 21st.
The transaction also required the authorization by the antitrust regulators of the United States China, Mexico, Brazil, Turkey and the European Union.
As a result, the operation creates an industry-leading compounding business and establishes a platform for future growth to reach into additional high-growth markets, Complementary strengths and capabilities will provide customers with a full range of innovative products and end-to-end solutions.
