Argentina’s Marval O'Farrell Mairal adds partner

Argentine law firm Marval O'Farrell Mairal has announced the incorporation of Soledad Riera as a partner of the firm, and who is a specialist in the oil and gas sector.

“This appointment strengthens the development of one of the firm's key practice areas: energy and natural resources,” the firm said in a statement.

Soledad Riera has vast experience and expertise in the area, particularly in regulatory matters, negotiation and contracts, regulatory analysis and dispute resolution. During her career, she has worked in important companies belonging to the oil and gas industry. Her Know-How is supported by an outstanding professional background, which is reflected in a postgraduate degree in oil and gas law.

Soledad comes to the firm directly from the oil and gas industry, having worked for gas distribution company Transportadora de Gas del Sur, where, since 2015, she held the position of head of legal affairs, having previously held the position of senior attorney at the company, from 2007-15.

From 2002-07 she worked at Linde Gas Argentina as an in-house lawyer.

She has a master’s degree in oil and natural gas from the Universidad de Buenos Aires, and a degree in law from the same university.

Regarding her appointment to the position of partner at Marval O'Farrell Mairal, the law firm’s president Santiago Carregal said: "We are very excited with the incorporation of Soledad as partner of the firm.  She is an extraordinary professional, with great knowledge and experience in the energy sector, and who fully shares Marval's values”.
