Another impressive acquisition for Altice

Another hit for Altice, hich announced a few days ago the acquisition of PT Portugal SGPS, a leading provider of telecom services to individuals and corporate clients in Portugal for €7.4 billion. PT Portugal SGPS was previously held by Oi, a Brazilian telecommunications company. Altice secured its third important acquisition after the French telecom operator SFR for €13.36 billion and the acquisition of Virgin Mobile.

Portuguese assets of Portugal Telecom were absorbed by Oi in may 2014 with the merger between both of the operator which was supposed to create the first Portuguese-spealing telecom giant is now in a dead-end street.

“This is the best solution for Oi and Portugal telecom” commented Bayard Gontijo, the chief executive of the Brazilian operator.
