Andersen adds Carmen Mozún as partner in the energy area

Andersen has added Carmen Mozún as a partner in its energy practice group, where she will advise on corporate deals.

With a law degree from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid and a specialization in M&A at New York University, Mozún’s career spans more than 20 years. She has worked at KPMG Abogados and Baker & McKenzie in both Madrid and New York, and specializes in M&A, project finance and asset finance, mainly in the energy and infrastructure sector.

José Vicente Morote and Íñigo Rodríguez-Sastre, managing partners of Andersen in Iberia, highlighted that the new hire represents "an important reinforcement in the corporate and M&A department, in which Carmen Mozún will provide services in the transactional and financing part of projects in the energy area, consolidating the work that the rest of the specialist partners in this field are already developing in this practice.”

Morote and Rodríguez-Sastre have emphasized the importance of sector specialization and underlined that "the energy sector is strategic for the firm, in which we have a very high level of experience and transversal specialization in the transactional, tax-financial, regulatory and environmental areas, among others.”

"At Andersen, we continue to advance our strategic plan, which has the objective of increasing capacities and specialization in all practices," the managing partners said. Mozún will work closely with the corporate and M&A department, led by Ignacio Aparicio and Ivo Portabales. The department is one of the main pillars of the firm, with more than 60 professionals and 18 partners specializing in M&A, corporate, competition, privacy, intellectual and industrial property, and finance.
