Established in 1973, Curtis’ Paris office is a centre of excellence in international arbitration, with particular strength in investor-state arbitration. The team represents clients from both the public and private sectors, and is well known for its success both in commercial arbitration in France and in its representation of states and state-owned entities. Our 9-strong Paris team has extensive experience handling domestic and international arbitration matters.

Curtis has a core of experienced commercial arbitration attorneys, including some who have worked in-house with the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC). In recent years, we have been retained in high-profile cases involving some of the world’s largest and most significant disputes. Many of our arbitration specialists regularly act as arbitrators and are featured as speakers at professional conferences around the world. Our Paris based lawyers work closely with the wider international arbitration team, which spans most of our 17 offices, with centres of excellence in Paris, London, Milan, Mexico and New York City.

Curtis is well known for representing sovereign States in high-profile, high-value investment treaty disputes and commercial arbitrations. Curtis is ranked as the number one international arbitration firm globally by the American Lawyer survey, which is based on the number of contract cases handled involving US$500m in dispute and the number of investment treaty cases handled involving more than US$100m in dispute. The firm is currently handling over 100 arbitration cases, with an aggregate amount of over US$100 billion in claims.
