Miró Quesada Abogados (MQ-A) is a boutique law firm that advises and represents clients in arbitrations locally and internationally. The partners Gustavo Miró Quesada and Rodolfo Miranda, along with a team of qualified associates specialize in: construction and infrastructure, corporate, finance, insolvency, insurance, M&A, private contracts, Public Private Partnerships (PPP) and government contracting.
Quality over quantity is the basis for the “boutique” design of MQ-A, this means they accept only a few cases and clients each year. In the words of the name partner Gustavo Miró Quesada, “Our experience, coupled with the flexibility of being a boutique, allows us to give personalized service to our clients. They are always advised by the partners themselves with the help and intervention of our associates”. This ensures not only exhaustive deliverablesthat meet international standards, but also the competitive edge that only experience cann provide. For Rodolfo Miranda, this experience is what characterizes their firm: “We provide specialized services with high international standards. Both of us have been international lawyers in US firms”.
The MQ-A team is known for their able expertise in Peru and abroad. Before being a partner at Osterling Abogados, Gustavo Miró Quesada was part of the Holland & Knight corporate and international arbitration practice in Washington DC. Currently, he teaches Law & Economics at the Catholic University of Peru. Partner Rodolfo Miranda, formerly a senior associate at Amprimo & Flury Abogados, was previously a lawyer in the international arbitration practice of Clifford Chance in Washington DC. Rodolfo is admitted to the New York Bar and teaches Arbitration at the University of Piura School of Law and the ESAN Postgraduate School / Lima Chambers of Commerce Arbitration Center joint program, among others. Both Partners have converted their years of arbitration experience into expertise recognised by their peers through their appointments as arbitrators in ICC, CCL, PUCP, and ad hoc arbitrations.
Since 2017, MQ-A team has been advising their clients on important cross-border insolvencies, M&A operations and other corporate matters. In arbitration, MQ-A has not recorded a single loss. Thus, every year they secure substantial awards for their clients, for example their most recent award of US$ 36 million. They plan to continue this success in their ongoing arbitrations related to insolvency, construction, engineering, corporate, and government procurement disputes.
