Dechert’s intellectual property team in France has a strategic vision of IP, which is an essential asset for French and international groups in terms of the valuation of their intellectual property rights.
“IP law is a right to prohibit as well as a right to operate and choose one’s partners.”
The Dechert team guides their clients before, during, and after the creation of an IP right. The team assists them in drafting and negotiating their R&D agreements, collaborations (JV, collective ownership), their licenses and IP rights assignments.
Alongside their clients, the Dechert team helps them to define their offensive or defensive legal strategies in France and throughout the world, and represents them in their national, European and international litigations by favoring amicable resolutions. They guide their clients through the consequences of Brexit and prepare them for the challenges of unitary patents and the Unified Patent Court (UPC).
They operate in various sectors: health, chemistry, electronics, telecommunications, aeronautics, mechanics, alcohol, tobacco, and luxury.
They cooperate with Dechert’s other departments and work in close collaboration with the 100 lawyers of the IP global group.
