Positioning

Bhering Advogados was founded in 1978 and operates in all fields of Intellectual Property and related matters, including trademarks, patents, industrial designs, copyright and neighboring rights, information technology law, enforcement against counterfeiting and unfair competition, licensing, transfer of technology and IP litigation.

Our firm mainly represents multinational corporations, particularly companies based in the U.S.A, Europe and Asia, and their Brazilian subsidiaries, belonging to a variety of industry segments. We are among the very few IP firms in Brazil with branch offices and a strategic presence in the Brazilian territory. Our main office is located in Rio de Janeiro, close to the INPI national headquarter, and our branch offices are in São Paulo (a major financial and industrial region) and in Curitiba (southern region with heavy concentration of large companies and industries in general). Thus, we represent a large number of national large and medium-sized companies as well.

Since its establishment, the firm has been engaged in the constant evolution of intellectual property in the international arena. Its policy of providing personalised assistance to its clients has been important to the growth of the firm.

Additionally, the firm encourages and finances the education and technical improvement of its professionals abroad. Foreign academic background and the annual participation in national and international congresses contribute to keeping the professionals updated with international law and practice.
