Terna Forward Invests in Hypermeteo to Advance Data-Driven Climate Solutions

Terna Forward led a capital increase, investing as lead investor together with the existing shareholder BF Educational Srl (Gruppo BF SpA), as part of an investment in Hypermeteo, an innovative Italian company founded in 2021 as a spin-off of SME Radarmeteo, which has been active since 2007 in the professional meteorology sector.

Hypermeteo develops datasets, indicators and weather-climate scenarios that can be integrated into companies’ operational processes. By combining available observational data with deterministic models and artificial intelligence algorithms developed in-house, the company produces a weather-climate data grid with very high spatial resolution, across different time horizons.

Through this transaction, Terna Forward further strengthens its presence in the Corporate Venture Capital space through investments aimed at identifying and supporting, with an open innovation approach, the most promising companies leveraging technologies to accelerate the energy transition and contribute to the sustainable development of the electricity system.
