Esparza Sánchez specializes in advising clients in the energy and infrastructure sectors, and on the drawing up of public contracts.
She has focused her practice on corporate law, infrastructure, energy and project financing, advising government agencies and private sector companies on the design, structuring and implementation of public works projects, private-public projects, the construction and operation of ports, railroads and highways. She has also led companies’ bids to acquire contracts to execute infrastructure projects.
In the electric power sector, she has advised local and international clients engaged in projects within Mexico’s wholesale electricity market and long-term power auctions.
She has also successfully negotiated contracts for project financing regarding the generation, transmission and distribution of electricity, and on the development of renewable energy projects in the country such as solar parks and wind farms, and combined cycle power generation plants.
A law graduate of the Universidad Panamericana with a specialization in contracts and mercantile companies, she has also completed courses in corporate law, at the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México, energy law at the Escuela Libre de Derecho, and she also holds a master’s degree in corporate law from the Universidad Panamericana.
She is an active member of the Mexican Bar Association (Barra Mexicana de Abogados) and Abogadas MX.
In 2020 she was named a Rising Star in Legal 500 ranking for her work in infrastructure project development and in energy and natural resources, while in 2019 she contributed as an author to Chambers & Partners energy practice guide.
In addition to its Mexico City office, the law firm also has offices in the cities of Guadalajara and Veracruz.
