Rachel Muller, currently Vice President of Operations for Latin America, will become the new managing Director of Nestlé Portugal as of February 1, succeeding Anna Lenz, who was promoted in October. She is the second woman to lead Nestlé Portugal.
The new Managing Director of Nestlé Portugal has been Vice President of Operations in South America since August 2023, responsible for Brazil, Chile, the Plata Region, and Peru-Bolivia. The 49-year-old Brazilian professional will move from Switzerland to Portugal to lead the Portuguese branch starting in February, replacing Anna Lenz, who has led the company since July 2022. Lenz will assume the role of Global Head of Human Resources for the group and become a member of Nestlé's Executive Committee in January.
A graduate in Dentistry with a postgraduate degree in Communication and Marketing, Rachel Muller began her career at McCann Worldgroup and joined Nestlé in Mexico in 2010 as Dairy Consumer Marketing Manager. In 2014, she was appointed Executive Marketing Manager Dairy at Nestlé Brazil and, four years later, promoted to Business Executive Officer Coffee, responsible for the Nescafé, Nescafé Dolce Gusto, and Starbucks brands. In January 2022, she added the Beverages & Cereals segment to her responsibilities at the company.
In Portugal, Muller will lead a company with 2,594 employees, which generated a turnover of €711 million in 2023. In the country, the multinational operates two factories (Porto and Avanca), a distribution center (Avanca), and five commercial delegations across mainland Portugal and the islands.
Rachel Muller attested her enthusiasm for the new role, highlighting her commitment to upholding Nestlé Portugal's legacy of excellence and innovation while driving sustainable growth. She emphasized the importance of teamwork, strengthening partnerships, and prioritizing people, communities, and the planet, with the goal of creating shared economic, social, and environmental value. “Taking on this new role and leading Nestlé Portugal is an honor and a privilege that fills me with excitement. Together, we will continue to build a bright future for Nestlé Portugal, improving the quality of life for everyone, today and for future generations,” she stated.
