With an LL.M. in corporate law from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) and a PhD in civil law from the University of São Paulo (USP), Luiz Octávio brings over 15 years’ experience in prominent roles within the private sector. His career includes positions in the legal departments of major institutions such as Nubank, Google and HSBC, where he was directly involved in structuring financial products, innovation projects and payment operations. His national and international experience, combined with top-tier academic training, forms the foundation for the strategic profile Viana Bandeira Advogados aims to embody.

Luiz Octávio is a member of the litigation finance committee of the OAB-RJ, an organization dedicated to the study of third-party funding for judicial and arbitral disputes from a legal practice perspective. In addition, he is a speaker, guest lecturer at academic institutions and author of books and articles in the fields of contract law and banking law.
