Thomas Müller and Bernd Wirbel have been elected the co-managing partners of leading German firm Hengeler Mueller.

Earlier this week the Frankfurt-headquartered firm announced the election, which will see Müller and Wirbel succeed Georg Frowein and Rainer Krause in the top roles from July for a four-year term. 

Frankfurt-based partner Thomas Müller has been with the firm since 1996. He specializes in international private equity and German and European real-estate transactions, his work contributing greatly to the expansion of the firm’s real-estate practice.  

Wirbel is a Düsseldorf based partner with the firm since 2004. He is an M&A specialist, with experience handling public and private takeovers, private equity deals and general corporate matters.

With 320 lawyers, including 90 partners, across offices in Berlin, Düsseldorf, Frankfurt, Munich, Brussels and London, Hengeler Mueller is a leading European full-service firm, one that registered turnover of $332m in 2020.
