Mathieu Plassard Appointed CEO of Ogilvy Africa

Mathieu Plassard, ex-managing director and now CEO of the largest advertising agency in the continent, has over 13 years experience, having previously worked at Ogilvy & Mather in Paris and Ogilvy Action, making him capable of leading the agency’s quest to change leadership strategies and meet the growing demand for strategic communications services by global multinational brands entering the African market.
Matthieu Plassard will be replacing Nadja Bellen-White, who is taking up the position of executive vice-president in London. The pair had worked together for the past three years, winning this past May the Best Agency Award Ogilvy Africa at the African Cristal Festival in Morrocco
“Mathieu has been a key part of the positive change and growth at Ogilvy Africa and we are delighted to have him take over as CEO as this will ensure continuity with the existing team,” noted Bharat Thakrar, CEO WPP Scangroup Ltd.
Present in 27 countries, Ogilvy Africa is the number-one ad agency in sub-Saharan Africa and the most awarded agency in the country.
Remarkably the agency won seven out of 12 Grand Prix awards at the festival, most notably for a global campaign called the “Most Eligible Bachelor,” also, they were selected for the Africa Gold Sabre award for their public relations work on Coke Studio 2016, a Coca-Cola platform that showcases musical talent from across the continent.
