The joint venture will also allow Atlas to continue with its expansion plans in Colombia, while Isagen consolidates its leadership in the country’s energy transition.
By means of this agreement, the two parties will submit investment proposals with respect to renewable energy generation projects to be developed within the framework of the joint venture, as well as those future conditions and events that, if verified, will serve as a basis to materialize each of the proposed phases and structures.
“With this partnership, Isagen brings its strength and nearly 30 years of experience in generating and commercializing renewable energy in Colombia,” Atlas Renewable Energy said in a press release.
“On the other hand, Atlas Renewable Energy will bring its development and construction expertise with a proven track record in renewable energy in Latin America. We aspire to consolidate this partnership in the short term with projects that contribute to expanding the capacity Colombia needs today,” the company added.
Colombian law firm Gómez-Pinzón advised both parties on the creation of the JV, with a team led by partners Adriana Moreno Marques and Mauricio Piñeros Perdomo, and who was assisted by senior associates Andrés Felipe Fonseca and Alejandro Sanabria Díaz, and associates John Rojas Melo, Juan Felipe Sáenz Dussán and Laura Rey.
