Flor & Hurtado Abogados Opens in Ecuador

The announcement was made on July 31st, by the attorneys Mario Alejandro Flor and Agustin Hurtado, as they established Flor & Hurtado Abogados. They previously worked as senior partners at Bustamante & Bustamante law firm and have experience in project finance, oil and antitrust.

Additionally, the two founding partners are joined by Andrés Ycaza, Juan Carlos Peñafiel, and Misael Ruiz, who left Bustamente & Bustamente in the past months. All these three attorneys have become partners of the new venture and Ruiz will be the managing partner. Moreover, Jose Cisneros joins the firm as the sixth partner, after working for nine years as an independent practitioner. To complete the staff, Flor & Hurtado will also have four associate attorneys.

While the new firm has professionals with plenty of experience in the market, it will still face a crowded environment in Ecuador, due to the fierce competition of medium size law firms in the country.
