The well-known English firm Eversheds has finally merged with the US firm Sutherland Asbill & Brennan, after two years of searching for a merging partner. Eversheds Sutherland will be led by Chief Executive Lee Ranson as well as managing partner Mark Wasserman on a six people global executive team which will be overseen by a global board of ten people with equal representation from both firms. Other members of the executive team are Keith Froud, Ian Gray, Victor Haley and Thomas Gick. The group will have more than five hundred twenty partners and two thousand lawyers practicing in sixty one offices spread through twenty nine countries
The merged Firm’s client portfolio includes high profile companies like Facebook, General Electric and Coca-Cola. Eversheds Sutherland represents 57 of the FTSE 100 and 71 of the US Fortune 100. The merger has slowed down some of Sutherland’s expansion objectives in Singapore having to reapply to the correspondent authorities as a result of the name change of the firm.
