EQI Unveils Pablo Spyer as New Operations Director

In early March, financial advisory firm EQI Investimentos announced the recruitment of Pablo Spyer as its new operations director, in a move which aims to bolster its recently announced brokerage business, backed by the largest investment bank in Latin America, BTG Pactual. 

Mr. Spyer is a well-known financial executive with over 27 years of experience in the financial services industry and has acted as the operations director of many successful businesses. He holds a wealth of experience in issues involving emerging markets, portfolio management, equities, corporate finance, hedge funds, bonds, FX and asset management. 

Coming from Mirae Asset, a Korean asset management firm whose operations Mr. Spyer helped to build from scratch in Brazil by using the “light broker” certification, he will now use the same certification at his new challenge with EQI. The institution still awaits authorization from the Central Bank of Brazil (BC) to start operating under this new model.

Mr. Spyer is also a social media influencer with over 500,000 followers on Instagram, Twitter, Linkedin and Youtube, and rose to fame with his “Minuto Touro de Ouro” forays about the financial market's latest developments. 

Academically, he obtained a bachelor degree in Economics from Florida International University (FIU) and an MBA in Capital Markets from Universidade de São Paulo (USP).
