Emergent acquires Friopacífico from Blumar Seafoods and Inversiones Galletué

Emergent is a subsidiary of US-based Lineage Logistics Holding LLC, a company that provides logistic, public warehousing, port-centric warehousing and cold-chain solutions.
Friopacífico was previously owned by Inversiones Galletué S. A. and Blumar Seafoods. Inversiones Galletué is a private company controlled by the Stengel family that invests in areas such as agriculture, fishing, logistics and real estate, while Blumar Seafoods is a world-class Chilean company dedicated to fishing and aquaculture.
Friopacífico operates three large facilities located in Talcahuano and San Pedro de la Paz, along with the Chilean ports of Talcahuano, Lirquén, San Vicente and Coronel, the main ports in Region VIII, where, it provides a wide range of warehousing and value-added services, including container connections, online inventory monitoring and photographic reporting.
As part of the Emergent network, Friopacífico will embark on an ambitious growth plan to build additional warehousing and quick-freezing capacity.
Chile has second-largest fishing industry in Latin America, after Peru, and is currently the largest seller of jack mackerel in the world, and the second in global salmon production. Exports of these and other types of seafood, such as mussels and trout, are expected to grow in the coming years. In addition to seafood, Chile is an important exporter of fruit.
