BIP Law and Tax establishes Abu Dhabi desk to support Italy-UAE cross-border investments

In a move to strengthen economic and institutional ties between Italy and the Gulf countries, BIP Law and Tax has announced the launch of a dedicated desk in Abu Dhabi. Led by equity partner John Shehata, this marks the firm’s first permanent operational presence in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region. The project has been developed in collaboration with Italiacamp, a public-private connection platform dedicated to favouring innovation, industrial development, and the internationalisation of Italian businesses in the Middle East.

The initiative aligns with the international expansion strategy of BIP Law and Tax and will primarily focus on corporate law, private capital, cross-border investments, and legal assistance for Italian and international groups operating in the United Arab Emirates. The desk will be hosted at Italiacamp’s Hub for Made in Italy, located in the Sky Tower of Abu Dhabi, situated within the nation’s political and financial heart. This strategic location is shared with several major Italian companies active across the MENA region.

The legal and tax consultancy services provided by the new desk will also support the broader Italiacamp network. This expansion complements the existing regional presence of the BIP Group, which inaugurated its Abu Dhabi headquarters in 2025.

Stefania Radoccia, managing partner of BIP Law and Tax, described the opening as a strategic milestone designed to assist both local investors interested in the Italian market and Italian companies seeking growth in the UAE. John Shehata added that Abu Dhabi’s role as a financial and decision-making hub for sovereign investments and long-term industrial strategies makes it a natural bridge between European industrial excellence and Middle Eastern capital.

The desk’s activities will draw on the expertise of several BIP Law equity partners specialised in key sectors for the region, including energy led by Marco Muscettola, real estate led by Vito Bisceglie, tax led by Paolo Puri and Carlo Maria Andò, healthcare led by Aldo Pietro Brielli, and the xTax division led by Antonino De Benedictis.

Leo Cisotta, general manager of Italiacamp EMEA, concluded that the arrival of BIP Law and Tax within the Hub for Made in Italy provides a strategic resource for the entire Italiacamp network, reflecting the evolving and increasingly sophisticated Italian entrepreneurial ecosystem in the Gulf.
